Pre-Production Meeting Notes

Meeting with our band minutes.

Members:

• Singer: Bryony

• Drummer: Owen
• Keys/Bass: Jake

Discussion of the brief. Please see the Response to the Brief:

• Brief: We need to perform 15 mins performance for charity event at school.

• Suitable music choice:
• The audience will be a mixture of ages, and therefore in our pre-production meeting notes when we discussed the brief we decided to choose pop songs that have mostly been in the charts quite recently. This will make sure the audience are familiar with the music.

• What is expected of by the audience:
• We will present the performance with confidence to leave an effect on the audience, which will hopefully meet the expectations of the audience. We will try to make it flow as well as possible, to make sure of this we will go through rehearsing our whole set until perfected.

• What is expected of me:
• The requirements are to sing the set accurately and confidently. To accomplish this I have to sing the set to the best I possibly can, and therefore must be well rehearsed. To make me appear more confident I could take the microphone off the stand or sing louder with big hand gestures. 

Song Choice:
We will be playing the following songs:

• The First song will be Thinking Out Loud, Jenna and I will be signing this while Owen is on drums and Jake is on piano, making this a group performance. This will be a good opening song as it's a well known and not too upbeat.
• Secondly I will be singing No scrubs with the whole group, Owen will be playing the drums and Jake on the piano, Jenna and I will be singing, This is a good second song because it's upbeat and a good old song for people to recognise and sing along to.
• The third song will be signing is Wonderwall again Jenna and I will be singing and Owen will be on Drums and Jake will be on bass. This was the last song with the group and it was a good semi closing song because it's quite slow yet still upbeat.
• The forth song Jenna and I will do a duet to the song of When We Were Young it is a powerful and moving song that is well known and can be sung along to.
• The final song I will so a solo performance to a backing track so that you can hear my voice away from Jenna's. This will be an Adele song.

Conclusion (Main Meeting Outcomes):

• To work on ' I want you back ' as the song is hard to sing and play and needs working on to make it sound professional - we still practice this first to see if it's achievable, that way we can quickly move onto the other songs if it's not suitable.
• Myself and Jenna as singers need to be more confident with the lyrics of each song and try not to have lyrics in front of us, even if it is as a backup.
• Work on the timings for ' No scrubs' as this has quick a few quick changes. As a strategy, we will work on it together as a group instead of separately to ensure that we get the timing right.
• Myself and Jenna will need to be practicing the songs with microphones so we understand how loudly we need to sing and how it will sound when we do use them. We can then work on our microphone technique.
